Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Dr Hayley Roberts

I am a Lecturer in Public International Law at the School of Law (T&R), having initially been a Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol lecturer when I was appointed in September 2013. I am also Commissioner to the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales. My areas of research mainly relate to the international law of the sea, particularly the legal protection of underwater cultural heritage (inc. climate change issues) and dispute settlement. This is my first lectureship, having completed my PhD at Bangor in 2012.

It has often been a challenge for me to balance research with teaching and admin/other duties, in addition to parenting/family life, and I know that this is a struggle for many other staff. I felt that joining the RDCG would allow me to highlight and identify issues faced by ECR lecturers and work on prioritising and addressing them at a University level.
