Developing Effective Supervisory Skills

Session Aim

This four part programme will begin with an introduction for those new to supervision or those who have had previous supervisory experience but would benefit from some support/ refresher. The programme will offer a variety of both theory based and practical sessions aimed at developing your, confidence and effectiveness on a range of key supervisory skills.

•    Developing your self-awareness through Myers Briggs and a Working Styles Questionnaire

Session 2 – Communicating Effectively
•    Creating a positive working environment
•    Coaching and Communication Skills
•    Developing your Assertiveness Skills

Session 3 – Performance Management
•    Managing Performance
•    Goal Setting – your own and others
•    The Art of Delegation

Session 4 - Dealing with Difficult Situations
•    Dealing with Difficult People
•    Managing Conflict in the Workplace
•    Conducting Difficult Conversations
•    Giving Effective Feedback
