Overall aims and purpose

Mae’r modiwl yn canolbwyntio ar bwysigrwydd amrywiaeth diwylliannol, gwerthoedd a hawliau a’u pwysigrwydd yn natblygiad ymwybyddiaeth ddiwylliannol a moesol plant. Gyda phwyslais ar hawliau, bydd y modiwl yn edrych ar ffyrdd y gellir meithrin ymwybyddiaeth ddiwylliannol mewn plentyndod ac ieuenctid. Bydd hyn yn cynnwys archwilio strategaethau addysgol, megis Athroniaeth i Blant, a chynlluniau sy'n hyrwyddo cyfranogiad a llais plant a phobl ifanc ar draws cyd-destunau cymdeithasol-ddiwylliannol. Drwodd a thro nod y modiwl yw rhoi dealltwriaeth eang o faterion diwylliannol mewn plentyndod ac ieuenctid o fewn cyd-destunau safbwyntiau cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol.

Course content

Dros ddau semester byddwn yn archwilio a thrafod ystod eang o themâu a chwestiynau, yn cynnwys: Diffiniadau o ddiwylliant - sut mae plant a phobl ifanc yn 'dysgu' diwylliant? Polisi a strategaethau addysgol i hyrwyddo amrywiaeth ddiwylliannol
Athroniaeth i Blant: dulliau o hyrwyddo amrywiaeth ddiwylliannol
Dinasyddiaeth Fyd-eang Hawliau plant: diwylliant, hunaniaeth ac amrywiaeth; yr UNCRC a hawliau diwylliannol plant; perthynoliaeth ddiwylliannol mewn ymarfer hawliau plant
'lles gorau'r plentyn' mewn cyd-destunau diwylliannol amrywiol

  • apply multiple perspectives to early childhood issues recognising that early childhood studies involves a range of research methods theories evidence and applications
  • integrate ideas and findings across the multiple perspectives in early childhood studies and recognise distinctive early childhood studies approaches to relevant issues
  • evaluate competing positions in relation to the construction of babies and young children and childhood by different subjects societal agents and time place and culture
  • constructively critique theories practice and research in the area of child development
