Why is Bangor University a good choice for the course you are studying?
Regarding the teaching quality, I am really impressed with the academic qualifications of the staff and their subject expertise.
Tell us what you like about academic teaching quality at Bangor University?
I came to Bangor University because I was awarded with a full tuition scholarship. The infrastructure, ranking, lab facilities, international classroom setting is commendable. I have worked on expensive instruments and equipment in a lab which I never did before. I really like the library set up and 24*7 services during exam time.
What is the social life like in Bangor? Are you involved in any societies or sports teams? How easy it is to make friends here?
It's pretty easy to make friends and I have made a lot of good friends and will be carrying a lot of memories with me.
Your experience of living in university accommodation OR private accommodation?
My experience of living in private shared accommodation is very good. I am very thankful to the university's Students Union (housing section) in providing me with the guidance and making my house hunting easy. My landlord is very cooperative, responsive to any complaints and is understanding. I am also provided with all the basic amenities.
What do you think about Bangor and the surrounding area?
Bangor is a calm and serene place and it’s a nice start for international students. Everything is nearby and is within walking distance. What I really like about this place is that it always draws me closer to nature and helps me to reflect within myself.
Any experience with the free support services available to international students at Bangor University?
We were briefed about everything in the welcome week by the International Education Centre staff who guided us on how to open bank accounts, getting registered with the police and visa advice.
What is the highlight/best thing about being a student at Bangor?
To me the best thing about Bangor University is that I am studying at a good institute with state of the art lab facilities for almost no cost. Independent work by students is carried out in labs using expensive equipment which is highly beneficial. The library is equipped with many facilities which is also helpful and the cost of study is reasonable as well.
