Why is Bangor University a good choice for the course you are studying?

Bangor University was a good choice for me because it was one of the very few reputed universities that offered me a degree in MBA Information Management.

Tell us what you like about academic teaching quality at Bangor University?

The thing which I liked the most is that the quality of teaching is engaging. Also, the modules are taught very practically which was very useful. The professors and personal tutors have very high qualifications. I have felt I have been very well treated since coming here.

What is the social life like in Bangor? Are you involved in any societies or sports teams? How easy it is to make friends here?

The social life in Bangor is really good, there are nightclubs like Peep and Academy etc. I am involved in societies like Folk Dancing, Indian Society, International Food Society and sport teams like Cricket, Badminton and Squash. It is definitely easy to make friends here, the people are very nice and friendly. I found it very easy to join the societies and clubs, which are free to join and allow you to make lots of new friends.

Your experience of living in university accommodation OR private accommodation?

I live in university accommodation - Neuadd Garth, and I must say as it was my first ever experience of living in a university hall and the experience so far has been awesome and incredible. The facilities in the university’s accommodation has been really good with 24*7 help, facilities, lifts, very advanced kitchens and I also found the price good too.

What do you think about Bangor and the surrounding area?

One of the main reasons I chose Bangor was because of the area. It is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen in my life and it is surrounded by heart touching scenery, the sea and is a very friendly environment. I also think all the people in Bangor and the surrounding area are very friendly. There are also good options of what to do here.

Any experience with the free support services available to international students at Bangor University?

The free support services offered by Bangor University's International Education Centre regarding visa issues, volunteering, Careers and Employability Services, ELCOS, Medical facilities were very helpful for me in my time of need during my whole academic year. They sorted out my bank account for me, helped out with my visa and helped with my travel and finance too.

Experience of getting part-time jobs in Bangor? How easy is it to get one?

It’s not that difficult to find a part-time job in Bangor,the experience which I received while working in a shop helped me a lot to develop my management, communication skills and how to work well in a team. I was lucky to have a good opportunity to work over in a town called Beaumaris. I also achieved my Bangor Employability Award by participating in ELCOS and university open days and the teaching challenge. I also hope to work in the university IT department.

How confident are you that Bangor university degree will help you in taking your career forward?

I was missing something in my career, even though I am already an engineer and have many technical skills, the thing that was missing was having a degree in IT Management from one of the finest universities of UK. After getting this degree I will have a much bigger chance to get a place in the international market and IT industry. I am confident in my course particularly as it is unique to the country so it will boost my future job opportunities as technology is a very good industry and I have gained relevant, managerial knowledge.

What is the highlight/best thing about being a student at Bangor?

The best thing about being a student at Bangor is that it a multi-cultural university which gives a chance to meet people from different parts of the world and make friends for a lifetime. Another thing I liked was that the people of Wales are really helpful and friendly. The lecturers and personal tutor facilities were one of the best things while studying here. I also liked that there were lots of international students and I have made lots of new friends thanks to the university. I definitely made the right choice coming here.
