Why is Bangor University a good choice for the course you are studying?
When I was studying in Columbia I liked Herpetology and there is a professor here at Bangor University that works with snake venom, so this was the main reason I chose to study here. I like the infrastructure and the labs, they are certainly bigger than what I am used to. I like the classrooms, the library, and the Main Arts building reminds me of Hogwarts.
Tell us what you like about academic teaching quality at Bangor University?
The teachers here have work in different research projects and they have published papers and you can see that they know what they are talking about.
What is the social life like in Bangor? Are you involved in any societies or sports teams? How easy it is to make friends here?
It was easy to make friends for me, I just met people and we clicked.
Your experience of living in university accommodation OR private accommodation?
I live in university accommodation, Garth Halls and it's been good. Some of my friends who have lived in London say that Bangor is the cheapest palce to live in the UK.
What do you think about Bangor and the surrounding area?
I like Bangor, it's small and cute, I am not a big fan of big cities. If I want to go out for a run at 3am, I can do that, sometimes I get back home late at night and I walk to Garth and I feel safe which I wouldn’t have in a big city. It’s the only place where as a woman, I feel safe. I like Roman camp and Bangor pier and sometimes we go up a mountain and it's really good, nature wise it is really beautiful.
Experience of getting part-time jobs in Bangor? How easy is it to get one?
What is the highlight/best thing about being a student at Bangor?
You get to meet a lot of people from different countries and it's really easy to get around Bangor because it’s a small city so you don’t really need to use public transport.
