100 Treasures of Bangor University

Bangor University is the custodian of thousands of archives, rare books, artefacts and specimens that are of regional, national and in some instances international significance. These cultural treasures were collected mainly as teaching resources and include a diverse range of collections – artwork, ceramics, musical instruments, zoology, geology, timber and damaged wood, herbarium, manuscripts and printed material. These cultural treasures are an important element of the history and heritage of the University and its connection with the local area, Wales and the world. A booklet ‘100 Treasures of Bangor University’ was produced showcasing highlights from these collections with funding from The Bangor Fund. The display in Storiel shows a selection from the 100 treasures included in the booklet.
