LINC y Gogledd
LINC-y-Gogledd is a reciprocal borrowing scheme between North Wales’s public libraries and the region’s FE and HE libraries. The scheme includes the public libraries of Gwynedd, Conwy, Anglesey, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham as well as the libraries of Bangor University, Glyndŵr University, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, Coleg Cambria and the library at Natural Resources Wales.
The Scheme allows for registered library members in the region to borrow materials from partner libraries in one of two ways; Partner Borrowing and Personal Borrowing.
Bangor University Staff and Students
Partner borrowing for Bangor University staff and students (Requesting items to be delivered from partner libraries to your chosen Bangor University branch library):
If the book you require is not held here at Bangor, place an inter-library loans request and we will attempt to source a copy from our LINC partners in the first instance before trying other partners.
Personal borrowing for Bangor University staff and students (Borrow in person from any of the region’s participating libraries):
You are entitled to free membership at your local public library, you just need to visit with one form of identification which contains your address e.g. driving licence or utility bill. You can also apply to borrow in person at the participating Further Education Colleges by filling in the LINC membership form and having it verified and stamped at one of Bangor University’s libraries and then take it, along with your student/staff card, to the issue desk of the “partner library” you want to use.
Public Library and FE Library members
Partner borrowing Public and FE members (Request Bangor University books to be delivered to your Public or FE library):
Any registered library user within the partnership can request material from participating libraries and have them delivered to their home library for borrowing free of charge. There may be some restrictions on certain items such as reference materials and short loan items.
If you are unable to find your required book in your library, you can search Linc's joint catalogue https://libraries.wales/find-a-book/ and make a request for it at your home library.
Personal borrowing Public and FE members (Apply for a borrowing card to allow you to borrow in person from Bangor University’s libraries):
You can borrow in person from Bangor University’s libraries by filling in a LINC membership form. You will need to have it stamped and verified at your home library and then take it, along with your home library membership card, to any of Bangor University’s library customer service desks. You will be issued with a partner library membership card which will allow you to borrow 6 items for 2 weeks.
