LINC y Gogledd

LINC is a reciprocal borrowing scheme between HE, FE and public libraries in North Wales. Any registered Bangor University library user can request material from Gwynedd, Conwy, Ynys Mon, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham Public Libraries and have the item delivered to their home library for borrowing free of charge. The scheme also includes material from Glyndwr University, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and Coleg Cambria.

If you are unable to find material within North Wales, a joint catalogue of public, HE, FE and specialist libraries across the whole of Wales is available at: https://libraries.wales/. Some libraries have restrictions on borrowing some materials, though these will be stated on the catalogue.

Anyone who is a current member of one of the LINC partner libraries (above) can request Bangor University library material for collection from their local library branch. There are restrictions on the type of material available for loan via LINC, e.g. short-loan, reference, archival and multi-media material are not available.

How can I join?

If you are already a member of a participating public library or Further Education College Library, Bangor University library books can be delivered to your local branch for you to borrow without any further formalities – just ask for the book you want at your “home library” issue desk.

You can borrow in person from the University and Further Education College Libraries, by filling in a LINC membership form.  You will need to have it stamped and verified at your home library and then take it, along with your public library membership card, to the issue desk of the “partner library” you want to use.
