The School of Music at Bangor University has long-established international reputation for research in all areas of musical study. About 25–30 research students, investigating subjects from medieval music to contemporary composition, create a lively community within the School.
The research programmes represent a three-tiered structure, corresponding to the equivalent of 1 (MA/MMus Res), 2 (MPhil) or 3 (PhD) years of full-time study, respectively.
Although they form self-contained programmes, it is possible to transfer between them.
