SENRGy subjects rank highly in new Guardian University Guide
The recently published 2017 Guardian University Guide has recognised the excellence of a range of subjects taught in the School of Environment, Natural Resources and Geography (SENRGy). This success for SENRGy mirrors another strong performance for Bangor University as a whole.
Bangor University is now rated 4th in the UK as a University to study within the Agriculture, Forestry & Food subject area. At an undergraduate level this reflects the School’s degrees in Forestry, which has been taught in Bangor for over 110 years, and Environmental Conservation. The School also offers Masters degrees in Forestry, Conservation and Land Management and Food Security.
For the individual measures used to compile the overall league table, degrees within Agriculture, Forestry & Food at Bangor rate highly for Course Satisfaction and Teaching Satisfaction (1st in the UK), Satisfaction with Feedback (3rd in the UK), Average Entry Tariff (5th in the UK) and Added Value (6th in the UK). The latter reflects the effectiveness of teaching at Bangor University and quality of students’ degree results.
There has been similarly good news for SENRGy, with its subject ranking for Geography and Environmental Studies ranking in the UK Top 10 for Course Satisfaction (4th in the UK) and Satisfaction with Feedback (9th in the UK).
Head of School, Prof. Morag McDonald reflected that “these really pleasing results are further confirmation of the quality of our teaching within the School. Our degrees continue to be taught by enthusiastic staff within a friendly department located in one of the most fantastic locations in the UK. It really is apparent that our teaching and research continue to go from strength to strength”.
