Knowledge Exchange Series: Feeding Forward
- TS5/6, Wheldon Building
- Wednesday 7 December 2016, 13:00–14:00
- Peggy Murphy
These sessions, open to all, are designed to provide short informal opportunities to meet colleagues and exchange ideas about evidence-based approaches to learning and teaching at Bangor.
This session will be led by Peggy Murphy, Nurse Educator, Co-director of the PgCertHE in CELT, and one of Bangor’s National Teaching Fellows. Peggy will speak about her work on enhancing student outcomes with a different approach to using feedback to students.
Peggy’s pioneering Feedforward Project straddles two key themes; ‘Retention and Success’ and ‘Assessment and Feedback’. It is cited as an example of good practice for enhancing the student experience in a number of HEA publications including the HEA Compendium of Effective Practice in higher education, Volume 2. The work stimulated students to discover the link between assessment and feedback and demonstrated how working with feedback added value to their learning.
