A special evening to unveil the sculpture of Wilbert Lloyd Roberts and launch Côr Glanaethwy’s latest CD.
Tonight we celebrate two events which have been eagerly anticipated. It’s over a year now since Côr Glanaethwy made a lasting impression on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and tonight they will launch their latest CD, including some of the songs performed by them as part of the TV series. However it’s been many more years since the Wilbert Lloyd Roberts Sculpture Appeal was established. ‘Wilbert’ was the director that contributed towards founding theatre in Wales and it’s fair to say that without his vision, we may not have an arts and innovation centre of the kind we see here in Bangor today.
Tonight, to remember his priceless contribution, we will be unveiling a sculpture by Nick Elphick here at Pontio. After Christmas, Côr Glanaethwy will travel across the Atlantic to perform at Carnegie Hall, New York, so come over to wish them well on their big adventure and to be one of the first to see this unique sculpture at Pontio.
This event will be through the medium of Welsh.
