Session Overview
Workshop participants are invited to transform their ‘potted’ career histories into visual maps which are then used as tools to jointly reflect on models of ‘career’ in HE including the ‘leaky’ pipeline and on lived experiences. Suitable for all staff, in all roles, at all career stages.
 
Biography
Dr Kate Carruthers Thomas is a Senior Research Fellow and Athena SWAN Project Manager at Birmingham City University, UK.   She specialises in interdisciplinary enquiry into contemporary higher education, inequalities and gender and has a particular interest in spatial methods and analyses. Kate has translated her recent research into the gendered higher education workplace into a touring programme of presentations, workshops and performance.  Kate blogs at the g word (www.thegword2017.wordpress.com).
