During this session participants will be invited to consider the ways in which approaches to Assessment have been influenced by wider changes in Higher Education and to discuss a range of factors that affect our choices when designing student assessments. There will be opportunities to review a range of assessment methods and consider how the notion of 'Assessment for Learning' can be embodied in practice.
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Consider a range of factors that impact on assessment design decisions
- Review a number of assessment methods
- Consider ways in which students can be more involved in assessment processes to benefit their learning
- Address an assessment scenario and design an appropriate approach to assessment
