Bangor University is a signatory to the new Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers that was updated in 2019 following a UK wide review. As signatories to the new Concordat the University is committed to the three key principles of the Concordat which are:
• Environment and culture: Excellent research requires a supportive and inclusive research culture.
• Employment: Researchers are recruited, employed and managed under conditions that recognise and value their contributions.
• Professional and career development: Professional and career development are integral to enabling researchers to develop their full potential.
To demonstrate the University's commitment to the Concordat, every two years the University develops an action plan that outlines the actions we will undertake to support researchers.
As post-docs/ECRs/CRS you the primary focus of the Concordat - its aim is to more clearly define your rights and responsibilities in order to improve your working conditions and wider research environments.
We are therefore keen to hear what you think are the key priorities for the University in terms of supporting you as researchers and developing the research environment.
To do this we are holding an on-line session to give you an overview of the Concordat and provide you with an opportunity to share your views and ideas.
