The Ensemble of St Luke’s

We continue to develop our relationship with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 2018 and are delighted to include the smaller Ensemble of St Luke’s in our programme.

The Ensemble of St Luke's began its life in 1992, when a group of friends, all members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, decided to perform a number of chamber concerts to fundraise for various charities.

Since then, it has gone on from strength to strength and performs regularly in music clubs & festivals throughout Wales and the North of England.

In 2012 the ensemble were invited to give a special concert to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Rodewald Society, one of the oldest chamber music concert societies in the world. In August 2014 they were the first chamber group to feature at the Liverpool International Music Festival.

They regularly coach in both Liverpool Hope University and the University of Liverpool, often appearing in both universities concert series.

This season, the ensemble celebrates its 25th anniversary.
