This workshop explores the function of written introductions and the moves that writers make when introducing their work to their readers. You will have an opportunity to:


  • discuss in pairs and groups the characteristics of introductions
  • analyse sample introductions to draw conclusions about core characteristics related to structure, content and language
  • respond to questions related to one particular model
  • consider new approaches or ways of adapting a particular model, to apply core features to your own discipline
