Open Access to Data
Research Data Management and Open Access Data
There is increasing and widespread acknowledgement that the data from publicly funded research is a public good, produced in the public interest, and should therefore be made openly available with as few restrictions as possible and in a timely and responsible manner that does not harm intellectual property.
Bangor University is committed to research excellence and advocates that research data will be managed to the highest standards throughout the research data lifecycle. As such, Bangor University endorses the RCUK Common Principles of Data Policy. These principles emphasise the need to effectively manage and share research data.
We recommend that you check the research data management and open access data requirements of individual Research Councils as they maintain their own policies and requirements.
There is a team of people from across the Research & Enterprise Office, Library & Archives Services and IT Services to help with research data management.
Please browse our website for guidance on Bangor University's Research Data Management Policy and information on funders' requirements.
