The GO Wales: Achieve through work experience programme works with local organisations to arrange flexible work experience opportunities for young students.
By hosting a placement you can:
- Nurture and develop skills.
- Foster a more diverse workforce.
- Talent spot.
- Benefit from new ideas.
- Prepare students for work in your sector.
- Complete a project or carry out some research.
- Help a student decide on a future career path.
What we do
We support students who face barriers in securing work experience due to a health condition, financial barriers, caring responsibilities or other factors. Placements typically range from 1-3 days shadowing or observation experience or can be up to 20 days unpaid work tasters. However, there is no fixed timescale as each opportunity is tailored to fit the needs of each student and host organisation.
Support for you
Organisations have the support of a university advisor to help with every step of the process. There is no limit to the amount of opportunities you can host. If you feel this is something that you and your colleagues could support, then we would welcome the opportunity to meet with you.
Whether it’s an informal insight into a role or some practical experience we’d like to hear from you!
