See how our services can help you prepare for what to do next:

  • Talk to an Employability Adviser

  • Make use of our Career Management Guides

  • Learn about yourself as well as generate some new ideas by trying some self-assessment tests

  • Update your CV and get it checked by an adviser in one of our clinics

  • Attend careers workshops, talks, events and employer-led skills development sessions, including CV writing, how to prepare for interviews and how to approach postgraduate study and funding, etc.

  • Search for Jobs using Bangor Prospects – local, national and international opportunities, as well as voluntary opportunities, work placements and summer vacation work.

  • Collect free copies of graduate employer directories from the Careers & Employability Service

  • Check closing dates for graduate schemes – early ones include the Civil Service Fast Stream, large accountancy firms and some retail organisations.

  • Research postgraduate courses and funding possibilities and check for any early closing dates

  • Develop your enterprise skills through participating in B-Enterprising activities and earn yourself XP points if you are registered for the Bangor Employability Award. Complete the online Enterprise Catalyst to find out how enterprising you are.

If you're not already involved, why not take advantage of the Bangor Employability Award (BEA), which helps you to understand how to promote yourself to an employer and recognises the extra-curricular activities that you do alongside your degree.  The Autumn is a great time to build up your points to ensure that you are eligible to receive the award come graduation.

  • Keep checking closing dates for graduate schemes, postgraduate courses and funding applications.

  • Review your job hunting strategy

  • Continue to build up your knowledge by attending our workshops

Remember, you need to have submitted all your evidence for the Bangor Employability Award and have completed all parts of the Core Programme before the semester ends, so now's the time to log those final points!

  • Attend our workshops for finalists

  • Attend graduate recruitment fairs

  • Make an appointment to see an adviser before you leave, and remember you will still be able to access our services for up to three years after you graduate
