Welsh medium provision
A significant proportion of teaching staff, administrative staff and students are Welsh speakers.
This reflects the bilingual and bicultural nature of North Wales, the needs of employers, and the University’s commitment to the principles of the Welsh Language Act.
Other learning opportunities
The School offers other learning opportunities including individual modules, placements, tutoring and assessment through the medium of Welsh. There are excellent facilities for learning Welsh as a second language.
Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is not required for study or to be able to participate fully in the life of the School and University. However, the special characteristics of Welsh society add an extra dimension to the study of the social world. They positively enrich the experience of students who seek to understand their surroundings through the social and applied social sciences.
