Welcome Week

SHES is renowned for being a close knit, friendly School and our unofficial motto is 'Work hard, Play hard'. To help get you involved right from the start our Peer Guides will be on hand to help you settle in and show you the ropes. They have also arranged a load of activities to kick off your time at Uni in an exciting and fun way that will, hopefully, provide an unforgettable first week.

Important Stuff

As with most things in life, there are some more boring bits to Welcome Week BUT these events are important. They will include an official welcome to the University by the Vice-Chancellor, registration, choosing your modules, library tours etc, and School based activities such as a Welcome meeting with the Head of School and all staff, meetings with your Personal Tutor etc.

You should already have received a programme of events in you Welcome Packs, but if you haven't please contact us.

Fun Stuff

In addition to the Beach Day which is part of the School's official Welcome Week activities, the Peer Guides organise a social calendar to help you orientate yourselves and make new friends. They will introduce you to Bangor nightlife, arrange visits to local hostelries in unusual garb (fancy dress to you and me) and other activities such as BBQs. Also, discover the wide variety of clubs, societies and groups that Bangor Students' Union has to offer and get a bunch of free stuff!!!

The full programme will be posted here as soon as possible.

Have a go sessions are available for all of the clubs and societies - information available at Serendipity.

Breakfast - try out Mike's Bites for a full English or just beans on toast...

Missing mum's cooking? Sunday lunch - try out the Carvery at Bar Uno.

Saturday/Sunday evening, try Paddies, Rascals or Yellow - you'll know where they are by then, but just in case!
