Get paid to be a Student Reviewer
We’re looking to appoint paid Student Reviewers from across the University. The role involves being part of the team that periodically reviews our courses, to ensure everything we teach remains at a high standard. This process is called ‘revalidation’ and we want Student Reviewers to bring the student perspective to this process.
We particularly welcome applications from students who are due to remain enrolled beyond 2021/22; this is to ensure we can retain your expertise as a student reviewer for multiple years. The role is open to all students: from undergraduates through to PhD. It’s a great opportunity to add some fantastic skills to your CV, and to help us ensure that education at Bangor University is the best it can be.
The University and Students’ Union will provide you with in-depth training to prepare you for the role, and you will receive payment of £100 for each review you participate in.
Role description
As a Student Reviewer, you will work as a member of the Revalidation Panel (which includes staff from the University and an external member from another institution) and will be expected to carefully read and comment on programme and module documentation. You will be fully equipped to do this through the training we will provide you with. Your main role will be to look at how our courses are taught and assessed, from a student’s perspective. You won’t need to have expertise in the subject area, but you will need to be able to give views on the methods of teaching; learning and assessment; and opportunities for students to develop transferable skills. You will not be able to revalidate programmes from your own academic school, but you will be assigned to revalidation elsewhere in the university.

To apply, you will need to be available for a 15 minute interview, and a training afternoon. The dates and times for these are:
