Bangor students are amongst the most satisfied in the UK

The National Student Survey (NSS) results reflects the University’s focus on overall student experience. The results – released July 2018 – places Bangor amongst the UK’s top 10 universities for student satisfaction*.

A long tradition of academic excellence

Professor Oliver Turnbull, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Teaching & Learning at Bangor University commented on the results saying:

“The University prides itself on our excellent teaching and the strong support we provide for our students, and the results reflect this. These data are one of the measures we use to ensure that we respond to our students, and to continually enhance their experience at Bangor. "

The NSS results provide the most comprehensive feedback on the student experience at each institution, drilling down to school, course and programme level and also drawing on broader information about areas such as teaching and assessment and feedback.

Bangor University’s average satisfaction rate of 88% is well above the UK average of 83%, and that of Wales at 85%. Four subject areas have achieved 100% satisfaction scores. They are Celtic Studies (Welsh), French, Design Studies and Social Policy

Investment in the student experience

An on-going investment in facilities and services is further enhancing the Bangor student experience.

The exciting Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre, the St Mary’s Student Village and improved sports facilities at Canolfan Brailsford are amongst the most recent developments.

The University also runs initiatives such as the Bangor Employability Award to help with personal and career development. There are also options to study or work abroad as part of your degree.
