PhD gives Bangor student a sound basis for music industry career

A PhD student is seeing his research put to work as part of the Welsh music scene’s digital revolution.

24 year-old Steffan Thomas, whose PhD examines digital distribution, intellectual property and copyright enforcement, balances his studies with his day job at Welsh record label Sain, where he manages the e-commerce side of the business.

Fresh start to the summer

The Bangor University Summer Ball can be the pinnacle of the University social calendar and for some it marks the end of an era of a student’s time at Bangor. 

This year was no different as we saw the grounds of the Main Arts building transformed over the weekend and an array of artists and DJs come entertain throughout the night.

SENRGy Graduate helps to promote agro-forestry in the famine-threatened Sahel

David Beaton, who graduated from Bangor University in 2009 with a BSc degree in Agriculture Conservation and Environment, is currently working in the Sahel region of Niger, Africa, for the Australian-based organisation Serving in Mission.
