A selection of students from across the world came together for the photo shoot and Elliot Raimbault from Stratford-upon-Avon and Thea Singleton from Kent, are two who appear on the front cover of the prospectus.

Thea is studying Psychology with Neuropsychology and chose to attend Bangor University as, “it was one of the only places offering the course and the location and reputation really made it stand out.”

She goes on to explain “The level of teaching is amazing and the support for students is consistent.  The psychology department is large but manages to maintain a sense of community. There are always fun and interesting extra-curricular events happening too.”

As for the photo shoot itself, “I haven’t done anything like this before.  It was fun and I met great new people. I love Bangor!”

Her fellow student Elliot agrees, “It was good fun, it was nice to be able to visit places I had never been to before such as the lighthouse at Penmon by Puffin Island and different locations on Anglesey.  I take part in open days at the University, but never a photo shoot before!”

Elliot is a Business Studies and French student and his joint honours course gives him a chance to study a variety of modules and spend his third year abroad.

He’s enjoying his time at Bangor and believes, “the small community here makes you feel at home but you can still enjoy a healthy nightlife.   There’s so much to do here, I played football in my first year and became men’s captain of the lacrosse team in my second year. There are lots of different sporting opportunities in Bangor that you cannot find anywhere else such as mountain walking, fell running, sailing and much more”

Libby Hopkinson agrees that the sense of community is an important factor at Bangor. Libby, from Worcestershire who also appears within the pages, and she explains; “I enjoy hanging out with my flat mates as we’ve all become very close.”

Having a printed record of her time at Bangor is a wonderful experience says Libby;

“The photo shoot was great, the day went fast and I met people I’d never met before. It was very interesting hearing from some of the international students about how different the UK and Bangor is compared to where they are from. It’s also been great to see myself actually in this year’s prospectus!”

Not only can prospective students visit the Bangor University site at for more details, but the Facebook page and Twitter feed gives an additional overview to what student life can be like at Bangor University.
