Question 2: What if I am off-campus, for example, on placement, study abroad or a distance learning student?
- Although face-to-face sessions are preferable, appointments via Lync / Skype are available for students on placement or distance learning courses, who have this type of access recommended in their Study Needs Assessment Report (SNAR) / confirmed by their Funding Body. During these sessions, your tutor will provide advice on developing the areas identified in your Individual Learning Plan and will send you resources to reinforce the points covered.
- In addition, and where it is not possible to come in for a face-to-face session or to use Lync / Skype, for those students off campus who wish to develop their writing style, appointments via email may be available if recommended in their SNAR / confirmed by their Funding Body. You will be asked to email a sample of your written work so that your tutor can help you to recognise the types of errors you make and how they can be rectified. Using comment boxes, your tutor will remark on grammar, punctuation and spelling errors but will not make any amendments to the text or give advice on the content of your work.
- Following the sessions offered via Skype / e mail, you will be required to sign for the support received either by confirming by e mail or printing the form, signing and returning it to the Dyslexia Team.
