What is Welcome Week?
Welcome Week is an exciting, fun packed first week at University that is organised for new students to settle-in, find their way around, meet new people and try new things.
There are no formal lectures during Welcome Week so it's your chance to get to know the university and the area, join clubs and societies and make friends.
What's important during the week?
All new students must formally register with the University and you will be invited to do this on-line before the start of your course.
During Welcome Week you’ll receive an official welcome to the University by the Vice-Chancellor, choose your modules, become a member of the Students’ Union and meet your tutors and lecturers.
What else goes on?
Welcome Week is also a week of social events that’ll keep you entertained and make it easier for you to make new friends. Your Academic School and the Students’ Union will be organising various activities during the week and the Peer Guides will be everywhere to make sure you’re ok.
