Applications for September 2010 will open during June 2010. Applicants who have accepted an offer to study at the University (which may be conditional) will be advised in early June how to make an application.

If you want to know how we will deal with your application, or how rooms are allocated or the answer to lots of other questions you may have please read our FAQs.  If you can't find the answer there please contact us and we will do our best to help you.

Please note that you can not make an application to live in halls until you have accepted a place to study at the University on a conditional or unconditional basis.

If you are going to be away from home at the application time we would ask you to ensure that your parents or a responsible adult is available to make an application on your behalf.

Applicants should consult these web pages to find out information on all our halls.

We would encourage all prospective students to apply for a room in Halls but we understand that some students, especially mature students and those with partners or families, may wish to find privately rented accommodation.  The University has a dedicated student housing office which can help you look for accommodation in the private sector.

Clearing Applicants

If you are applying to the University through the UCAS clearing process you may also make an application for a room in Hall and we will still guarantee you a place if you make an application by 31 August. More information...

Choosing your hall

We will ask all applicants to make choices regarding the halls they in which they would like to live and we will do our best to allocate our rooms according to these preferences.  However this is not always possible.  Inevitably some residences will be oversubscribed and will fill up very quickly
