Academy for Health Equity (AHE)

We are the Academy for Health Equity

As an academy, our mission has always centred on prevention, wellbeing, and above all, equity in healthcare. But increasingly, we recognised that health equity isn’t just one part of the puzzle — it’s the lens through which all our work is focused. It shapes how we teach, how we collaborate, and how we support professionals to make meaningful change in their communities and systems. That’s why we’re now identifying more simply and clearly as the Academy for Health Equity.

As part of this evolution, we’ve also joined forces with the School of Health Sciences to create a newly blended postgraduate programme: Public Health and Health Promotion — supported by the Academy for Health Equity. This enhanced course brings together two previous offerings into a single, strengthened pathway, giving learners a broader, more integrated foundation in public health, leadership, and prevention, with health equity at its core.

As one of the Welsh Government-funded Intensive Learning Academies, AHE remains a collaborative hub for resource portfolio, consultancy, and equity-led education. Whether you’re joining a course, attending a workshop, or collaborating with us on a project — welcome.
