Undergraduate Application

For entry onto undergraduate / bachelor degree programmes, students with a school leaving qualification equivalent to the British school leaving qualification will be considered for direct entry into the 1st year of a 3 or 4 year programme. Students from countries whose school leaving qualification is not at a level equivalent to the British school-leaving qualification are required to undertake an additional foundation year. The International Foundation Course (see below) which will consist of academic and English language study.  

Undergraduate Transfer

It is possible to transfer into the 2nd year of an undergraduate degree programme if the university studies undertaken to date in another country or in another institution in the UK correspond by level and content to the 1st year programme at Bangor.  In order to assess an application for transfer, students are required to provide with their application an official certified transcript detailing the study undertaken to date.

Undergraduate Students

If you would like to apply to us for undergraduate courses then you can either apply through UCAS or you can apply directly to us by using our own International Student Application form.

International Foundation Programme

The International Foundation Programme is a full-time, 1-year course combining General English, study skills, British cultural studies and foundation subjects.  It is intended for international students who wish to take undergraduate degree programmes at Bangor University but who come from countries where the high school or college level is not equivalent to the UK.

Students who pass the course sufficiently will be able to go on directly to suitable undergraduate degree programmes at the University.

Alternative route for International Students

International students who do not meet all the academic and English requirements for direct entry to undergraduate study can also apply to Bangor University after completing a Foundation Year at the Wales International Study Centre.
