May 2007: Congratulations to MA, MPhil and PhD students from the School of Welsh
Among the postgraduate and research students who recently gained their MA in the School of Welsh recently are the popular singer Gwilym Morus – who edited the poems of the medieval poet Robin Ddu from Anglesey – and the novelist Janice Jones for a critical survey of the depiction of Welsh women in contemporary fiction. Congratulations to all the following MA students who have completed their course successfully:
Rhian Gwyn: MA in Creative Writing.
Janice Jones: MA with Distinction – ‘Images of Welsh women in a selection of contemporary fiction’.
Nia Angharad Jones: MA – ‘A critical study of the work of Geraint V. Jones [Blaenau Ffestiniog]’.
Gwilym Morus: MA with Distinction: ‘Robin Ddu from Anglesey’.
Erin Murphy: MA with Distinction – ‘The work of Phylip Siôn Phylip’.
Heledd Haf Williams: MA with Distinction: ‘Some unpublished poems attributed to Dafydd Llwyd’.
Congratulations also to Dr Gwen Pritchard Griffith who has gained a PhD in Creative Writing: ‘A historical novel with an introduction’.
Congratulations to Dr O. Arthur Williams on gaining a PhD: ‘A history of drama in Anglesey 1930-1975’.
Congratulations to Awel Mehefin Edwards on gaining an MPhil: ‘The restless author: a study of the fiction of Angharad Tomos (1975-2004)’.
Congratulations to Heledd M. Evans on gaining an MPhil: ‘Adaptation as a craft: a study of television adaptations of novels by Elena Puw Morgan and Kate Roberts’.
While congratulating these students on their success, Professor Gerwyn Wiliams added: “The success of these postgraduate and research students is further evidence of the dynamic scholarly environment which characterizes the School of Welsh and of the diverse range of research projects which are undertaken.”
