July 2007:The Novelist’s World – School of Welsh and NIECI host a conference

Image of Lloyd JonesOn Saturday, 24 November, a number of Wales’s leading novelists will meet at Bangor University to discuss aspects of the contemporary Welsh novel.

Image of Llwyd OwenIn a Welsh-language event, two of the speakers are recent winners of both Welsh and English categories of the Book of the Year Award, Lloyd Jones and Llwyd Owen.  Gwion Hallam, one of the adjudicators in this year’s competition, will be interviewing Manon Rhys and Angharad Tomos.  And Prose Medal winner, Robin Llywelyn, and the Daniel Owen Memorial Prize winner, Gwen Pritchard Jones, as well as Caryl Lewis and Bethan Gwanas will also be taking part. 

In keeping with the theme of the conference, the event is being organised by two other contemporary novelists - Dr Angharad Price from the School of Welsh and Llion Iwan from NIECI (National Institute for Excellence in the Creative Industries) – with the financial support of Academi.
