Summer 2008 Graduates and Award Winners

Congratulations to all the successful graduates within Bangor University’s School of Welsh.

Among the 34 that graduated this summer:

  • 7 were awarded First Class Honours
  • 29 received Second Class Honours.

First Class Honours were awarded to:

  • Helen Ann Davies (Llandysul): Welsh with Journalism
  • Gwennan Meleri Evans (Lampeter): Welsh with Creative Writing
  • Erin Prysor Jones (Bala): Welsh and Welsh History
  • Glyn Jones (Holywell): Welsh Language and Literature
  • Fflur Rees Roberts (Pwllheli): Welsh and Welsh History
  • Manon Wyn Williams (Llangefni): Welsh Language and Literature
  • Siân Lloyd Williams (Pwllheli): Welsh Language and Literature

The annual John Morris-Jones Prize for the best overall degree result as well as the Ellen Kent Prize for the best dissertation were both awarded to Glyn Jones from Holywell, Flintshire.

Congratulations also to Sioned Wyn Evans from Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire on winning the Thomas L. Jones Prize for the best result achieved by a Second Year student from within the School.
