Bangor University’s School of Welsh welcomes the class of 2007 postgraduate and research students, the largest new cohort of students in recent years.
The students are engaged in work in various fields:
Rhodri Llŷr Evans has received an AHRC sponsored scholarship to follow an MA course focusing on images of the city in Welsh literature
- Menna Machreth has received support from the Pantyfedwen Trust to follow an MA course discussing aspects of post-colonialism in Welsh literature
- Both Lleucu Hughes and Medi Wilkinson have received support from the Pantyfedwen Trust to follow an MA course in creative writing
Non Meleri Hughes has received an AHRC sponsored scholarship to study for a PhD researching the work of the playwright and fiction writer, Wiliam Owen Roberts
- Anna Michelle Davies has received an AHRC sponsored scholarship to study for a PhD researching into the genre of the Welsh television drama series
- Heledd Haf Williams has received an AHRC sponsored scholarship to study for a PhD leading to an edition of a selection of poems ascribed to Robin Ddu (fl. 1450)
- Rhiannon Heledd Williams has received an AHRC sponsored scholarship to study for a PhD researching aspects of the Welsh periodical press in the USA c.1838-c.1933
- Buddug Griffith has received a Welsh Language Board sponsored scholarship to study for a PhD researching into aspects of language employed by pupils in Key Stages 2 and 3
- Gwen Saunders Jones has received a John Gwilym Jones Scholarship from the School of Welsh to study for a PhD focusing on the woman’s voice and image in Welsh Poetry c.1460-c.1660.
