Scholarships and Awards

Students of the School of Welsh celebrate their success

In an award ceremony held at Bangor University recently, entrance scholarships and awards were presented to undergraduate students as well as postgraduate and research students to support their studies.

The School of Welsh congratulates them on their achievements and takes pride in their success.

Some of the other winners were:

  • Sarah Pierce Owen, ex-pupil of Ysgol David Hughes, Menai Bridge who won a School of Welsh Scholarship (£500) to study Welsh with Creative Writing.
  • Carol Ellen Jones, ex-pupil of Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen, Bethesda who won a School of Welsh Scholarship (£500) to study Welsh and English.
  • Sioned Wyn Evans, ex-pupil of Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle, Pen-y-groes who won a TOP Scholarship (Talent and Opportunity Programme) (£1000) to study Welsh and Childhood Studies.
  • Llinos Gwawr Jones, previously of Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor and Ysgol y Moelwyn, Blaenau Ffestiniog who won a TOP Scholarship (Talent and Opportunity Programme) (£1000) to study Welsh.
