Applications for September 2012 will open in June 2012.
Applicants who have accepted an offer to study at the University (which may be conditional) will be e-mailed in early June explaining how to make an application.
Please note that you can only make an application to live in Hall as a postgraduate student if you are a NEW student to Bangor. There are very limited places for postgraduate students in Hall so students who have previously studied at Bangor University in any capacity are no longer eligible to make an application.
Please remember that you can not make an application for hall until you have firmly accepted a place (which maybe conditional) to study at Bangor University.
If you are an International student please make an application as soon as you are requested to do so. Please do not wait until you have been granted a visa - there may be no rooms left available by then.
Please read all the information on these web pages very carefully and look at all our Halls information BEFORE you make your application.
All applications are made online. We will ask you to specify 2 halls in which you would like to live. International students should also note that they are required to pay an application fee of £300 when they submit their application.
Full instructions on how to make the payment will be displayed once the application has been submitted. We will do our best to allocate you a room in your preferred Hall of Residence – but we can not guarantee that we will find you a room. Sometimes if your application is successful you may be allocated a room in a hall for which you did not apply.
Once you have submitted your application you will not hear from us until your place at Bangor is confirmed from July onwards. At this stage if you have been successful with your application you will be sent an email directing you to view your Residence Agreement and the Residence Conditions .
Once you have accepted your Residence Agreement you will be required to pay a deposit of £300.00 unless you are an International Student who has already made this payment. Please ensure that you have available funds to make this payment which is required to confirm your room allocation.
You will normally be given 7 days to respond to the email offering you a room so it is essential that you check your email account on a daily basis during August and September. If you fail to respond your room may be allocated to another student.
If you want to know how we will deal with your application or want the answer to lots of other questions you may have please read our FAQs. If you can't find the answer there please contact us and we will do our best to help you.
Please note that you can not make an application to live in halls until you have accepted a place to study at the University on a conditional or unconditional basis.
Help in finding private rented accommodation
Please remember that there is a very high demand for places in Halls of Residence and we cannot guarantee that accommodation can be offered to all applicants. We will try to advise you as soon as possible if you are not successful with your application. If you are not successful with your application for a room in Hall or if you do not want to live in a hall of residence you will need to look for a room in the private rented sector and The Student Housing Office will help you do this.
