Our postgraduate courses are designed for candidates with degrees
or related backgrounds, who wish to develop their expertise and further
their professional careers. The MBA programmes provide a more practical
postgraduate course to complement our long established MA and MSc programmes.
A primary objective of our postgrauate programmes is to develop
knowledgeable and capable postgraduates to move quickly to
key positions in their relevant sectors. The programmes provide training
at an advanced level covering the latest developments in their respective
fields..
The School has long held a strong international reputation in the study of banking and finance. Indeed in the rrecent Research Assessment Exercise conducted on behalf of the UK government in 2008, Bangor Business School has been rated No 1 in the UK for Finance and Accounting research.
We are an innovative Business School, the first UK university to offer MBA in Banking & Finance, and a pioneer in establishing a specialist Financial MBAs by distance learning. Postgraduates enjoy a mix of both theoretical and practical elements covering contemporary developments in the banking and financial field. Our MBAs aim to extend and develop advanced training relating to the practical managerial issues faced by modern financial service and related firms.
Our postgraduates have strongly benefited from their experience of
studying in a convivial, yet demanding, academic environment. The main
aim of our full-time programmes is to introduce a much stronger
practical emphasis focussing on strategic, corporate and financial management.
We believe that candidates following our programmes will benefit
in the same way as our past postgraduate students, who have found living
in Bangor and studying with the School to be both rewarding and enjoyable.
The School has a lively group of staff and students, from a wide range
of backgrounds, who are always willing to share their knowledge and
expertise. Your teaching staff at Bangor are active researchers, combining
high levels of expertise with a desire to extend their subject areas,
and, most importantly from a postgraduate viewpoint, an enthusiasm to
encourage others to develop their academic, financial and business skills.
