Financial Studies
Welcome to Financial Studies within the Bangor
Business School. We offer a range of internationally recognised undergraduate
and postgraduate degree programmes in the areas
of accounting, banking and finance.
Previously the School of Accounting, Banking and Economics, we are recognised as one of the major European University schools for financial
and banking studies. The Business School is internationally recognised for its
research and degree programmes in these areas. The benefits derived from
a strong research led faculty are evident in the undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees offered.
Researchers at Bangor have strongly influenced many important policy
agendas in accounting, banking and financial studies, both nationally
and internationally.
This kind of emphasis ensures that the courses remain fresh and relevant,
including the latest ideas and developments in the academic field. There
are benefits from the close association with the Research
Institutes within the School, in terms of research, and opportunities.
The emphasis within the Division, as with the Business School as a whole,
is very much on friendly and informal relationships between staff and
students. One of the advantages of studying in our school is that you
can easily make personal contact with members of staff, who are always
ready and willing to assist you with any difficulties which you may encounter
during your studies. The School places a strong emphasis within its mission
on informality and establishing a good working relationship with its students.
