The School of Psychology ranks among the very best in the UK in terms of both research performance and teaching excellence. Bangor University prides itself on its student care and is firmly established in a number of independent surveys as among the top 10 in the UK for student satisfaction. Students have access to state-of-the-art research and computing facilities and the opportunity to study for psychology degrees under world-renowned academic staff. The School’s undergraduate psychology courses have the highest possible Quality Assurance Agency ranking of “Excellent’ and has been described by an external examiner as ‘producing some of the best psychology undergraduates in the UK’. The Research Assessment Exercise 2008 saw Bangor Psychology rated 7th (out of 76) for research power. The School also boasts a number of prestigious research centres which, as well as being in the vanguard of academic research, offer students unique opportunities for project work under internationally recognised supervisors.
