Lifelong Learners Celebrate their Graduation

graduation2011Over 30 Lifelong Learning students graduated at Bangor University on Monday 11th July at Bangor University. Juggling work or family commitments seemed easy for these determined students, some overcoming many tribulations during their learning journey.

Studying for a degree is no easy task at any age, especially for those who work full-time and/or have family commitments. Lifelong Learning’s part-time degrees are flexible so that students can opt to study at a pace that suits their personal circumstances. Most students take 5 years to complete their degree. These part-time degrees are structured to help people returning to education and many have gone on to follow prosperous careers or further study.

Professor John Hughes said

"We are pleased that more and more are taking advantage of the opportunities available to them given the recent emphasis on increasing part-time study. We are committed to providing the means for people in the region to access higher education and are pleased that more and more are taking advantage of the opportunities available to them by studying part-time."

Dr David Sullivan, Director of Lifelong Learning said:

“We are delighted at our students' success.  It is a huge commitment to study part-time, particularly as many of our students have full time jobs, and this achievement is thoroughly deserved. Graduation is always a very happy day and provides a great opportunity for students to share the celebrations with family and friends as well as to reflect on all they have accomplished.”
