Miss Rebecca Jones

Teaching Associate

–

Room: G3A, Thoday Building, School Natural Sciences, Bangor University

Email: rebecca.jones@bangor.ac.uk

Phone: +44 (0)1248 388086

I gained a first-class honours degree in Geography and a Distinction within my MBA Environmental Management Masters degree at Bangor University. I joined the School of Natural Sciences in 2014 and am currently a Teaching Associate and PhD researcher. My main research interests focus on the role of food and place making in Wales.

I contribute to teaching and learning activities covering geographical themes such as place and space, food systems and processes, sustainable development and policy. I specifically contribute to the Food Geography (DXX3600) & Food Geography: Enterprise and Innovation (DXX3601), and the Advanced Fieldwork module to Barcelona (DXX/C-3003*). I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Postgraduate Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS). I also hold the committee role of digital officer for the RGS Food Geographies Working Group FGWG.

I am also currently the School Placement Experience Officer for both short term (DXX/C-3009*, DXX/C-4102*) and long term (DXX-9000) opportunities, and my role involves the promotion and administration of degree-related student placements.

*Modules can be undertaken through the medium of Welsh.
