Ms Hui Chen
Overview
I am a Doctoral Candidate based at Bangor University within the HUM.AI.N-ACCENT network. I hold a European Master’s in Clinical Linguistics (EMCL+) and an MSc in Language Sciences (Neuroscience, Language and Communication) from University College London. I also hold bachelor’s degrees from the University of Manchester and Beijing Language and Culture University.
Research Interests
My research interests lie in bilingualism, accent accommodation, and speech perception, with a particular focus on the neural mechanisms that support how people perceive and adapt to accented speech in social interaction. I am especially interested in combining behavioural and neurocognitive approaches to explore how language experience shapes communication
