Overview
I am a Lecturer in Marketing at The Albert Gubay Business School, Bangor University. My research is focused on behavioural decision making, social marketing, health and health-risk behaviours, and the role of emotion in consumer choice.
I have 14 years of higher education teaching experience and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (SFHEA). In 2025 I was awarded the Bangor University Education and Student Experience Award for my teaching excellence and positive impact on student experience. My teaching interventions include incorporating AI and other technologies into my modules and embracing the rich perspectives of students from across the world to enhance teaching of international marketing communications.
My roles within The Albert Gubay Business School include Director of Marketing and Recruitment, Open Day Coordinator and Estates Committee Lead. Research Interests
My research expertise lies in social marketing and consumer behaviour. I am particularly interested in exploring the factors that influence behavioural decision making, the ways in which different emotions influence perceptions and behaviour, and the differential psychological processes that underline action and inaction. My research has explored contexts such as blood donation, sunscreen use and high-calorie snack consumption. Much of my research explores how decision making processes differ when people consider performing and not performing a particular behaviour, and the way different emotions impact consumer behaviour.
