Inspiring Young Minds Through Chinese New Year Creativity at Ysgol Llanllechid!
The Confucius Institute was pleased to celebrate the Chinese New Year with pupils at Ysgol Llanllechid through a creative bracelet-making workshop designed especially for younger learners.
More than a craft activity, the session introduced children to the cultural meaning behind Chinese New Year traditions. Through the use of colour and simple symbolism, pupils explored themes such as good fortune, happiness and new beginnings. The activity supported the development of fine motor skills, concentration and confidence, while also encouraging curiosity about the wider world.
Working in smaller groups created a calm and supportive environment, allowing pupils to engage fully with the task and experience a strong sense of achievement. Each child left with a handmade bracelet that reflected both their effort and a meaningful cultural connection.
We are grateful to the staff at Ysgol Llanllechid for their warm welcome and for the opportunity to share Chinese language and culture with the school community.
