Global perspectives on wildlife ecology, restoration, and human–nature interactions
We are delighted to announce that the Wildlife Ecology and Nature Restoration Group from Utrecht University is visiting Bangor University.
As part of the Bangor University Conservation and Restoration of Resilient Ecosystems research theme seminar series, our guest speakers will present three short talks showcasing their diverse research across European and tropical forest systems:
- Professor Patrick Jansen – Wildlife in European Forested Landscapes
- Dr Marijke van Kuijk – Plant–Animal Interactions in Tropical Forests
- Dr Joeri Zwerts – Wildlife in Agro-Commodity Landscapes
The group houses the prestigious Prince Bernhard Chair for International Nature Conservation - currently held our own theme lead lead, Professor Julia Jones.
The seminar will be followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A, bringing together our visiting speakers with Bangor University colleagues - Professor John Healey, Dr Tyler Hallman, and Dr Eleanor Warren-Thomas - to reflect on the international and interdisciplinary dimensions of nature conservation. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Thoday Building Foyer.
If you are interested in wildlife ecology and conservation, and would like to hear about cutting-edge research taking place in Africa, South America, Borneo, and the Netherlands, we warmly invite you to join us. All are welcome.
