Linguistics modules Students must choose exactly 40 credits from the modules listed here. The Linguistics modules in year 2 build on the foundations of the modules chosen in year 1. Note that QXL 1115 Introduction to Phonetics and Phonology is a prerequisite for QXL 2201 Sounds and Sound Systems; QXL 1020 Introduction to English Grammar is a prerequisite for QXL 2204 Morphosyntax; and QXL 1116 Introduction to Meaning is a prerequisite for QXL 2202 Semantics and Pragmatics (Meaning Mind Truth). The student must take 40 credits from the modules.
