Overall aims and purpose
1. To enable practising teachers to develop their skills of mentoring.
2. To encourage practising teachers to critically reflect on and develop their own professional practice by researching into and becoming involved in the mentoring process.
3. To develop high-quality mentors in order to improve the quality of the mentoring of students in initial teacher training and of newly qualified teachers both within the North Wales Teacher Training Partnership and elsewhere.
4. To use ICT as an effective tool for developing mentoring skills.

- Successful students will 1. have a critical understanding of the key principles and processes of mentoring; 2. have demonstrated clear understanding of, and reflection on, the development of the role of an effective mentor within education; 3. be able to identify, evaluate, and reflect on the knowledge, skills, and qualities required to be an effective mentor; 4. have developed a high level of the professional skill required to be an effective mentor.
