The Researcher Development Concordat - Information session for PGRs (Online)
Hosted by:
Emily Holmes - Chair of Researcher Development & Concordat Group
Sue Niebrzydowski - Dean of Postgraduate Research
Alison Wiggett - Researcher and PGR Development Manager (IRIS)
You are warmly invited to this informal information session that will introduce you to Bangor University's Researcher Development and Concordat Group (RDCG). The Concordat is a national, multi-partner agreement that governs a researcher’s career development. It is important that you are aware of the Concordat, and that your views are represented in Bangor’s Concordat work. We have recently recruited a PGR rep from each of the three Colleges to the RDCG:
- Sudeshika Durayalage - College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
- Subhan Zahid Nazir - College of Medicine and Health
- Lucas Le Brun - College of Science and Engineering
The Concordat is an agreement between research funders and UK Universities which sets out the expectations and responsibilities of researchers, their managers, employers and funders in relation to principles of a researcher’s career development. Bangor University is a member of the Researcher Development Concordat, and is committed to the three key principles of the Concordat:
- Environment & Culture – acknowledging that excellent research requires a supportive and inclusive research culture
- Employment – researchers are recruited, employed and managed under conditions that recognise and value their contributions
- Professional & career development – these are integral to enabling researchers to develop their full potential
Please come along to hear more about the Concordat, meet your RDCG PGR reps and find out how you can become involved in its work.
