EGNI (M-SParc) – Contractor Event
Bangor University is currently finalising a business case to request funding from the North Wales Growth Deal to deliver Egni, a new low/zero carbon two-storey development on the M-SParc site in Gaerwen, Anglesey.
Overview of the Project
Bangor University is currently finalising a business case to request funding from the North Wales Growth Deal to deliver Egni, a new low/zero carbon two-storey development on the M-SParc site in Gaerwen, Anglesey.
Egni will provide an estimated 1,000m2 of new business incubation and research collaboration space (total building size of approximately 1,727m2) with complementary business development support. It will create additional offices, workshops and laboratories, training and circulation/reception space.
To exploit the potential of the new space it will include the provision of targeted interventions for tenants, and business support to grow the low carbon sector in North Wales. It will foster collaboration and nurture the cross-fertilisation of ideas between academia and industry, researchers and engineers, to place Bangor University, M-SParc, and the North Wales region at the forefront of UK innovation.
The project will provide an additional 40 parking spaces to supplement the existing provision in addition to landscaping a proportion of the site adjacent to the new building. A sub-station is already present on site and will feed
the new building. The drainage solution will be developed further in the next phase. The drainage proposal will require approval via SAB, and discharge of a reserved matters planning condition. Increased bio-diversity and landscaping will also be provided.
Contractor Event
Bangor University, M-SParc and project partners would like to invite interested contractors to visit the site at M-SParc, Gaerwen to discuss the plans and the requirements of the tender process.
Contractors will be required to consider carbon reduction and biodiversity options as part of their tender submissions, as well as being asked to offer social value contributions to the project via a Themes, Outcomes and Measures framework. This event will be an opportunity to discuss these requirements.
If you would like to attend the Contractor Event, please complete the online form and return to Olivia Cahill, Procurement Administrator before 18th July 2024. This information will only be used to ascertain the likely number of firms attending.
